Country Lodge Kinloch offers both self-catering accommodation in a stand-alone Pioneer Cottage, and in-home bed and breakfast style accommodation for guests requiring a higher level of personal service in the main residence. Both options offer a high standard of quality and service in an attractive and interesting environment where design inspiration has been taken from the traditional rural buildings of the American mid-west.

Country Lodge Kinloch is just 4 km from the picturesque lakeside village of Kinloch. An all-weather marina gives ready access to some of the most prolific fishing spots on the Great Lake, at the same time providing for the recreational boater and water sports enthusiast. Whangamata Bay also boasts an excellent beach front ideal for safe swimming, or just soaking up the summer sun. The new Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course is just 3 minutes drive away adjacent to the village; a public 10 hole Golf Course nestles alongside this. Two excellent walking/cycle tracks meander over the hillsides to Whakaipo and Kawakawa Bays.

There is a restaurant in Kinloch Village and a corner shop that serves coffee and takeaways; Taupo town offers a diverse range of dining options. Dinner is also available in house by prior arrangement.

The " Rustic Roost" has all the rustic charm you could want in an old -converted work-shed. All building materials used were sourced from recycled demolition bungalows, repurposed antique furniture or old farm equipment. Luxury linen is supplied in the mezzanine bedroom and include towels, organic toiletries plus a heated towel rail and underfloor heating in the bathroom. Breakfasts in the "Rusty Roost " consist of cereal, fresh fruits and yoghurt, as well as juice, bagels, jam, butter, and tea/coffee .
Situated next to a working farm, "The Roost" is surrounded by the sights and sounds of everyday country life, where sheep and cattle pass by over the hills that echo to the melodious sounds of never-ending birdsong. Bring your mountain bikes or hire locally to enjoy off road trails around the picturesque village of Kinloch, just ten minutes away or ride to Craters of the Moon for local trails.

We have three large well appointed rooms with their own ensuite bathrooms. The bathrooms have heated towel rails, hair dryers and toiletries. All rooms have queen size beds with electric blankets and lovely linen. There are TVs in each room and a table and chairs for comfort. Tea and coffee making facilities are available.

All guests will enjoy free parking and wifi and any help we can offer with local attractions and travel plans for the day.

Breakfast takes place downstairs in our family dining room shared by all our guests. It consists of a generous continental and cooked breakfast with homemade muesli, yoghurt, jams and sourdough bread. It is usually a very relaxed and informal time with lively banter and sharing of experiences.

We love to meet and get to know people but also appreciate travelling can be very tiring and often people just need time to themselves. We are available to assist and interact at your request.

The Bay Bar & Brasserie is just 500 metres away providing great food and Taupo is just 5 km away where there are many more restaurants and bars.

Taupo is very centrally located for day trips to many locations. Rotorua is just 50 minutes away
Hobbiton movie set 1 1/2 hours.
Tongariro National Park for skiing and hiking the Tongariro Crossing and other hikes is 1 hour away
Napier 1 hour 50 minutes.
