The sweeping lawn and lovely old trees, which frame Hartley homestead, prepare one for the gracious accommodation within. The mature fruit trees in the grounds, relics from Molyneaux Orchard, provide the preserves and jams served for breakfast at Hartley Homestead and the Pinot Noir vines at the rear of the property are in full production.
Euan has managed to renovate sympathetically, retaining the integrity of the building and providing the creature comforts guests expect which has gained them a 4 star Qualmark and Silver Enviro award.
There are two beautifully appointed bedrooms with guest lounge in the homestead and a very private super-king bed unit in the grounds.
Clyde is fast becoming a destination in its own right, it is the perfect place to spend at least a couple of nights either at the beginning or at the completion of the Otago Central Rail Trail and its proximity to wineries and ski fields makes it a perfect base summer or winter.
